By accessing and using MatricMentor, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

MatricMentor provides an AI-powered tutoring platform designed for South African high school students (Grades 10-12). The service includes access to subject-specific tutoring, progress tracking, and educational resources aligned with the CAPS curriculum.

3. User Accounts

To use MatricMentor, you must:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Be at least 13 years old (or have parental consent)
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Subscription and Payment

MatricMentor offers both free and premium subscription tiers:

  • Free Plan: 10 questions per day, Maths only
  • Premium Plan: R99/month for unlimited questions across all subjects
  • Payments are processed securely through PayFast
  • Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled
  • Cancellations can be made at any time from your account settings

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new premium subscriptions. Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of your initial purchase. Refunds are not available for renewals.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use the service to cheat on exams or assessments
  • Abuse, harass, or send spam through the platform

7. Educational Purpose

MatricMentor is designed as a learning aid and study tool. While we strive for accuracy, the service should not be used as a substitute for official curriculum materials, teacher instruction, or professional educational advice.

8. Intellectual Property

All content provided through MatricMentor, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of MatricMentor or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

MatricMentor is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to academic performance, exam results, or technical issues.

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of MatricMentor is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and use your data as described in that policy.

11. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the platform. Your continued use of the service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
