1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using MatricMentor ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MatricMentor provides AI-powered educational tutoring services for South African matric learners. The Service includes access to study materials, AI chat assistance, and progress tracking features aligned with the South African CAPS curriculum.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old, or have parental consent
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payment

Free Plan: Limited to 10 questions per day in Maths only.

Learner Plan (R99/month): Provides unlimited questions across all subjects. Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled.

Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely through PayFast. By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly charges.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Share your account with others
• Use the Service to cheat on exams or assessments
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or copy our AI technology
• Submit inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
• Abuse or overload our systems
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without authorization

6. Academic Integrity

MatricMentor is designed as a learning tool to help you understand concepts and improve your knowledge. It is NOT intended to provide answers for graded assignments, tests, or exams. Users are responsible for using the Service ethically and in accordance with their school's academic integrity policies.

7. Content Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, MatricMentor uses AI technology which may occasionally produce errors. We do not guarantee that all content is 100% accurate or complete. Users should verify important information and consult additional resources when needed.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of MatricMentor are owned by us and protected by South African and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or other reasons at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, MatricMentor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
